Comfort and Functionality: Rented Housing and Course Space

Since our beginnings, we have rented a home on the island, always ensuring a comfortable and functional place not only to live, but also to teach our diving courses. This approach has allowed us to maintain low operating costs, with rents ranging between $400 and $600 per month. Currently there are several rental houses available on the island, I might be able to make a few introductions.

Certified air refill for our Tanks

We have managed to coordinate the logistics for the loading of diving tanks in Panamá City at an exceptionally low cost.

Featured Achievement: Low Cost Tank Loading

Thanks to our dedication and years of establishing strong relationships with local service providers, we have managed to coordinate the logistics for loading scuba tanks in Panama at an exceptionally low cost of between $10 and $13 per tank. This agreement is a significant achievement that offers an important competitive advantage for our diving center.

This arrangement not only reduces operating costs, but also eliminates the need to maintain your own compressor, which would involve considering several additional aspects. Maintaining and operating a compressor includes:

  • Professional for Handling: Requires a trained technician to operate and perform regular maintenance on the compressor.
  • Regular Maintenance: Air compressors need constant maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Loading Time: Loading tanks with your own compressor consumes time, which could affect dive scheduling and equipment availability.
  • In addition, the company that loads our tanks has certified air, guaranteeing the quality and safety of the compressed air we use. This adds an additional level of confidence and peace of mind for our clients, ensuring that each dive is performed with the best equipment possible.

By avoiding these complexities, we can focus on offering a high-quality diving service without interruption, ensuring that our clients always have access to fully charged tanks ready for their underwater adventures. This efficient logistics solution underscores our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, further cementing our position as the preferred dive center in the region.

Reasons for sale

Despite my passion and dedication for Scubataboga, various personal and professional factors have led me to make the decision to sell the diving center.

List of Reasons:

  • Little time to attend the center due to other commitments.
  • I have another company (bioforma.org) and a training company in agreement with the University of Panama, which require a lot of time.
  • I must spend time in Argentina due to my mother’s delicate health situation.
  • I want to transfer the center to someone with a vocation for service and diving education, who shares my vision of the center’s potential.
  • Scubataboga has a lot of potential and requires financial support and a work team.

What is the profitability?

Project Profitability and Potential: Scubataboga represents an exceptional opportunity in the marine tourism sector. This dive center not only has a history of learning and adaptation, but also possesses significant growth potential. Below is a look at why this investment is profitable and how it can be expanded to maximize its success.

A Little History

Scubataboga has been on a path of learning and growth since its founding. In its first year of operation, significant investments were made in infrastructure and equipment, laying the foundation for high-quality service. Here we detail the evolution of the center and the lessons learned.

  • Initial Investment and Operations: The center operated at full capacity during its first year, with Santiago Pazo as the main instructor and non-diving assistants.
  • Challenges and Adaptations: The investment in a boat was premature due to a lack of suitable personnel, leading to a restructuring of logistics and the sale of the boat.
  • Pandemic and Adjustments: The pandemic affected operations, but a new instructor was hired, although his lack of experience resulted in problems with the compressor.
  • Logistics Optimization: Efficient logistics were established for tank loading in Panama at a cost of $10-$13 per tank, eliminating the need for a compressor of its own.
  • Current Challenges: Santiago Pazo’s limited time due to other commitments has prevented continued operation of the center.
Scubataboga Potential

Scubataboga has unlimited growth potential, supported by its strategic location and the growing demand for marine tourism activities in Panama. These are the reasons why the diving center is an attractive investment.

  • On the island it is possible to dive from the beach, having access to 3 shipwrecks, an area of remains of the old docks, areas of rock walls and corals.
  • Strategic Location: Located on the seafront and just 150 meters from the island’s access pier, Scubataboga offers an ideal location for tourists.
  • Unique in its Kind: It is the only professional diving service on the island and the second option in Panama City, standing out on Google Maps.
  • Proximity to the City: Taboga Island is just 30 minutes from Panama City, providing a convenient getaway for urban tourists.
  • Good connectivity between the Island and Panama City. 6 ferry schedules. Link https://scubataboga.com/como-llegar-a-taboga.html
  • Tourist Appeal: It is the only option for tourists looking for crystal-clear water beaches close to the city, differentiating itself from other less attractive beaches.
  • World-Class Infrastructure: Panama has one of the best airport infrastructures in Latin America, facilitating the arrival of international tourists.
Expansion Projects

To fully capitalize on Scubataboga’s potential, strategic expansion projects can be implemented that will increase profitability and ensure a steady flow of tourists.

Sales Platform for Partners and Sellers:

  • Implement an exclusive web platform for partners, sellers and commissioners, facilitating the promotion and booking of tours through QR codes.
  • Each reservation made through these private links will generate automatic commissions, incentivizing sellers to actively promote the center’s services.

Acquisition of a Boat:

  • Acquire a boat to make periodic tours, picking up tourists from hotels in Veracruz and/or Panamá City, giving them access to the beaches of Taboga.
  • Use the boat for daytime diving and snorkeling excursions, improving the customer experience and increasing the operational efficiency of the center.
